Following the line of argument from Riksantikvaren, Y-blokka functioned as a frame for the artworks Fiskerne II and Måken. However, as the reliefs were sandblasted directly into the concrete structure, the building became both frame and medium. The artwork becomes integral to its frame. As Riksantikvaren puts it, «to separate art from building is close to impossible.»[2]

Investigation A has been research into historic and contemporary practices of reframing existing monuments and objects. The research has resulted in an essay
